Since Friday, September 30, 2022, "the Pinault and Henriot families, owners of Artémis Domaines and Maisons &Domaines Henriot respectively, have combined their vineyards; this merger createsa unique entity in the world of exceptional wines. "The press release is perfectly clear and specifies that: "thenewentity,whichretainsthenameArtémisDomaines,ismajority-ownedbythePinaultfamily,alongsidewhichthefamiliesowningMaisons&DomainesHenriotareminorityshareholders."The Bouchard Père et Fils maison founded in 1731 by Michel Bouchard, a cloth merchant from the Dauphiné region, which remained in the same family for 264 years before being acquired in 1995 by the Henriot family of Champagne, has thus come under the control of the Pinault family. With the resumption of the maison Bouchard Père et Fils, François Pinault, who already owns in Burgundy the Clos of Tart and the domaine of Eugénie (ex domaine René Engel) lays his hands on one of the Burgundian crown jewels. Bouchard Père is indeed a maison of renowned trade and 130 hectares of estates in Côte-d'Or, 78 to Chablis With William Fèvre, grand cru and premier cru wines abound. Let's mention a few blanc Montrachet (89 ares), Chevalier -Montrachet (with 2.54 hectares, the maison is the largest owner in Chevalier ), Bâtard -Montrachet, Corton - Charlemagne , six great vintages of Chablis and in rouge : Corton Bonnes-Mares, Echezeaux , Clos -of- Vougeot Chambertin, Chambertin Clos of Bèze Chapelle-Chambertin and Charmes-Chambertin. Currently undergoing conversion to organic viticulture, the domaine was built up over time, starting in 1775 with the purchase by Joseph Bouchard, son of Michel, the founder, of the Volnay Caillerets old cuvée Carnot; an initial land acquisition followed a few years later, in 1791, by the purchase of the Beaune Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus, still today one of the emblematic vintages of the maison Bouchard Père et Fils also boasts a unique collection of approximately 200,000 bottles of old vintages, including several thousand from the 19th century; the collection is nestled safely within the old bastions of the city.
