On Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September, the Association of Climats of the Burgundy vineyards offers an immersion in 19th-century wine history with the free opening of the Vergnette room in Lamotte, the former hall of honor of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Beaune This site houses treasures from the 1889 Paris Universal Exhibition, a relief map of the Burgundy vineyards, and a display designed at the time to showcase Burgundy wines in the capital. Carved wood, coats of arms, and period documents allow visitors to better understand the evolution of the Climats up to their inscription as a World Heritage Site.
"Stone of the future": discovering the Comblanchien stone
On Saturday, September 19th, the Comblanchien quarries will open their doors as part of the "Stone of the Future" initiative, offering an immersion into the geology of the soils and subsoils that shape the terroirs of the Climats. To mark the inauguration of its new factory, the SETP company will offer guided tours of the quarry with machine demonstrations and explanations of stone extraction and processing techniques.
