The Climats celebrate their world heritage during a unique day

This Sunday, April 19th, Beaune will be the venue for the "World Heritage in Celebration" event. For the first time, the nine UNESCO World Heritage sites in Burgundy-Franche-Comté are joining forces to offer a common day, both festive and educational, in the heart of their territories.

HAS Beaune The spotlight will be on the famous Climats of the Burgundy vineyards. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015, they embody a cultural landscape shaped by centuries of winemaking expertise. The event will take place at... Domaine Baptiste Guyot , at the foot of the premier crus of the Montagne de Beaune From 10:30 am to 5:30 pm, the site will welcome young and old for an immersion in the world of Climats.

On the agenda: a fun 1 hour 15 minute walk through the vineyard. Equipped with a puzzle booklet, visitors will set off to discover ten information panels covering landscapes, biodiversity, geology, and appellations. At each stop, a puzzle or game will add a fun element to the walk. A wine tasting, offered by the winemakers of the... appellation Beaune will conclude this walk. Accessible independently, it will also be offered as a guided tour at 11am.

Entertainment for the whole family

Beyond the walk, numerous activities will punctuate the day. Participatory games, themed workshops, and fun activities will allow visitors to learn more about world heritage while having fun.

Highlights included:

  • A "Journey to UNESCO World Heritage Sites" to connect iconic objects and sites,
  • A Mölkky game reimagined around heritage.
  • An interactive wheel to test your knowledge.
  • Workshops focusing on biodiversity and landscape.

Families won't be left out, with a travel journal specially designed for children, inviting them to explore the region's nine UNESCO World Heritage sites through a stamp-collecting route. A competition will also be held throughout the day, with prizes of significant heritage value up for grabs.

With "World Heritage in Celebration", Bourgogne-Franche-Comté intends to promote the richness and diversity of its UNESCO-listed sites, while raising public awareness of their preservation.
